Welcome again to another edition to Force Fed Films, this week’s brought to you by a bucket of F you and a stamp of Anarchy. Jim made me watch “SLC Punk”, which I had no clue this movie even existed. It stars the young Matthew Lillard as Stevo and even the younger Jason Segel as Mike. The flick is about Stevo , Bob, Mike and their punk friends in their daily life. Hardcore eh, feels like I am 16 again and I thought black liner and piercings on my nipples were cool. Oh wait, not much has changed. Anyways, read more to find out what I thought about it.
The story is quite simple; it is about Stevo finding the goal of his lifestyle of anarchy. Throughout his trip, he and his buddy Bob go through a bunch of adventures including drugs, alcohol and a whole lot of meaningless sex. The movie shows how the world is divided into different labels of people, according to Stevo. As the movie progresses he introduces more labels of people from rednecks, different classes of punks, and even the now famous hipsters.

I thought this movie was pretty funny, even though I was not laughing out loud, I did find parts to be amusing and entertaining. The acting was whatever, it wasn’t good or bad. And the story was almost nonexistent. Just a movie with random situations thrown in and comedies ensues. But besides that, not much can be said about this movie. But my favourite part of the movie is easily the underlying message it sends out, I really don’t want to spoil it because it would ruin the movie. The ending was the best part of the movie, it clicks in a lot of it together and makes sense of everything and makes you think.
To summarize, it was a good movie to see. You fine folks should not get out of your way to see this, but do check it out if you have the time. It will fill your hour and a half real well and it is fun to see how these crazy kids find their way out of the weirdest situations.
