I'll start off by explaining a little bit of the story to you fine folks. There is a man-made virus that is killing off the human race. It is up to James Cole (Willis) to stop the virus from spreading and save the human race. Oh the only hard part is the man-made virus has already happened, and Cole needs to travel back in time to stop this. This is why this movie is so interesting, the movie takes place in several time periods and as the story starts to link up with each other, your mind will be blown! Cole first meets Jeffrey Goines (Pitt) in a mental asylum, and they develop a plan to take over the world by mass genocide. As Cole is going through day to day in the asylum, he meets his psychiatrist, Kathryn Railly (Stowe), who for some reason knows who Cole is, but can never put her finger on who or what he does. Yeah, this story is trippy and fun.
Cole and Goines in the Asylum watching some TV.
The character development in this movie is what kept me so hooked onto this movie. It was interesting on how each character played out throughout the different time periods. Also, how they interacted through the movie with the plot developing was cool. For example, Goines changes his persona multiple times, but each one acts very similar as in his mannerisms and main objective. For Pitt to pull off this character was astonishing and just wonderful.
My final thought of this movie was that it is one of the best movies I have seen this year (even topping I Love You, Man). If you like movies such as Inception, American Psycho or even Gattaca, you will defiantly love this movie. I would want to watch more movies like this and less movies like the new Justin Bieber movie. Thanks for reading.
I found this movie on Netflix Canada, so check it out.
Brad Pitt's best ever performance as far as I'm concerned and the one that made me really sit up and notice him as a serious actor.
